What we mean by web engineering

Design matters. What happens after someone clicks matters more.

Sites usually fail behind the page. Ours load fast on real phones, and every form, order and payment lands with an owner.

Plenty of studios in Chennai can make a site look good. Where business sites usually let owners down is everything behind the page: the contact form that emails one person who is on leave, the store that does not tell the warehouse, the payment that succeeded at Razorpay but never marked the order paid, the page that takes six seconds to load on a mid-range Android phone.

We approach website and ecommerce development as an engineering job. The site is fast on real phones and networks, every form and order lands in a system with an owner, and payment and stock states stay in step through webhooks rather than someone checking two dashboards.

For the systems behind the site, see AI workflow automation and WhatsApp CRM automation service. For getting traffic to it, see growth marketing.

What we build

Business websites

Service and location pages, forms that create CRM leads, WhatsApp chat and structured data.

Read more about Business websites

Service businesses, clinics, consultancies and manufacturers: clear pages for each service and location, enquiry forms that create a lead in your CRM, WhatsApp click-to-chat, Google Business Profile and Search Console set up, and structured data so search engines understand who you are.

Online stores

Shopify or a custom build, with GST-ready invoices, shipping and Razorpay payments.

Read more about Online stores

Shopify when you want a hosted store your team can run, or a custom build when your catalogue, pricing or checkout does not fit a template. GST-ready invoices, shipping integration, and Razorpay for UPI, cards and netbanking.

Web apps and portals

Portals, booking systems and internal tools with logins, roles and audit logs.

Customer portals, booking systems, dealer order forms and internal tools with logins, roles and audit logs. Often these are the front end of an automation or AI system we build alongside.

Redesigns and re-platforming

Old sites moved to a faster stack with a URL map and 301 redirects.

Moving an old site to a faster stack without losing search rankings: a full URL map, 301 redirects for every old page, and checks in Search Console after launch.

The engineering details we do not skip

Speed on real devices

Tested on mid-range Android phones and slow networks against Core Web Vitals.

Read more about Speed on real devices

We test on mid-range Android phones and throttled mobile networks, not only a fast laptop, and work to Google's Core Web Vitals thresholds: Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift.

Payments that reconcile

Signed webhooks mark orders paid, even if the customer closes the tab.

Read more about Payments that reconcile

Order status is updated from Razorpay or Shopify webhooks with signature verification, not from the browser redirect alone, so a closed tab never leaves a paid order marked unpaid.

Forms that reach a person

Every submission stored, routed to an owner and acknowledged.

Every form submission is stored, routed to an owner and acknowledged. Spam protection that does not punish real visitors.

Privacy and consent

Consent where required and a privacy policy that matches what the site collects.

Cookie and tracking consent where it is required, a privacy policy that matches what the site actually collects, and personal data handled in line with India's DPDP Act, 2023, or UK GDPR for UK sites.

How a project runs

  1. 01 Brief and site map

Audience, goals and connected systems agreed, with the page list fixed before design.

Who the site is for, what they need to find, what you want them to do, and which systems the site must talk to. We agree the page list and the integrations before any design.

  2. 02 Content and design

Page structure and copy first, each page answering a real customer question.

Page structure and copy first, then design. We write or edit copy with you so each page answers a real customer question.

  3. 03 Build and integrate

Built on a staging address with forms and payments working end to end.

Development on a staging address you can review, with forms, payments and integrations working end to end on test data.

  4. 04 Launch checks

Speed, redirects, analytics, sitemap and a test order through every path.

Speed tests, redirects, analytics events, structured data, sitemap submission and a test order or enquiry through every path.

  5. 05 After launch

A Search Console and analytics review a few weeks in, then agreed support.

A review of Search Console and analytics a few weeks in, then support and changes on terms agreed up front.

Public work

Work you can check.

Our published case study is Let Smile Clinic's website in Chennai. For the cheapest brochure site, a template builder suits better.

Our published case study is Let Smile Clinic, a dental and aesthetics clinic website in Chennai that carries our credit in its footer. The site you are reading is our own build too.

Where we are not the right fit: if you need a simple brochure site at the lowest possible price, a template builder will serve you better. We are most useful when the site has to work with other systems.

Questions

Shopify or a custom store?

Shopify for most stores: it handles hosting, security and checkout, and your team can run it without us. A custom build makes sense when you have unusual pricing (B2B tiers, quotes), complex catalogues, or need the store tightly joined to your own systems.

Can you integrate Razorpay and UPI?

Yes. We build integrations with Razorpay for UPI, cards and netbanking, including webhooks that update orders and, where needed, pass payments to your accounts for reconciliation.

Will a redesign hurt our Google rankings?

It can if old URLs disappear. We map every existing URL to its new home with a 301 redirect, keep content that ranks, and watch Search Console after launch to catch anything we missed.

Do we own the site?

Yes. The domain, hosting account and code repository are set up in your name, with access for us that you can remove.

Do you build for clients outside India?

Yes. We work with clients in the UK and elsewhere, choosing a payment provider that suits your country and handling UK GDPR consent where required.
