How an AI development company in Chennai works for UK clients

Remote delivery, stated plainly.

There is no UK office: you contract with the LLP and speak to the engineers who write the code. PropID is our named UK client.

CyberFreezeDev is an AI products and R&D company in Chennai, India. We do not have a UK office, a UK subsidiary or a UK sales team, and we will not pretend otherwise. Your contract is with CyberFreezeDev LLP, and the engineers on your calls are the ones writing and deploying the code.

That model suits a particular kind of UK buyer: an operations head or founder who knows which process is costing staff hours, wants it automated properly, and is comfortable working with a team over video and chat. It suits less well a project that needs someone on site every week.

Our named UK client is PropID, a UK company that builds business software and AI tools for operationally heavy businesses. Our other named clients are in India, and you can read about them on our case studies page.

Time zone overlap with London

India does not change its clocks. The UK does, so the gap moves by an hour twice a year.

UK clocks change on the last Sunday of March and the last Sunday of October. India Standard Time is UTC+5:30 all year.

What the overlap means day to day

Your morning sits in our afternoon: a daily call before lunch, a written update the next morning, and decisions kept in a shared channel.

Read more about What the overlap means day to day

Your whole morning falls inside the Chennai working afternoon. In practice that gives a daily window for a stand-up or a review call before your lunch, and a written update waiting for you the next morning covering what changed, what is blocked and what we need from you.

We keep decisions in writing: a shared channel (Slack, Microsoft Teams or a WhatsApp group, whichever your team already uses) for questions, and a short document per milestone that records what was agreed. Calls run on Google Meet, Teams or Zoom. Demos are on your own data in a staging environment, so the person who will use the system can try it before it goes live.

UK GDPR when your developer is in India

The questions your DPO or IT lead will ask, and how we handle them.

Controller and processor

You stay the controller, and we act as processor under a written Article 28 contract.

Read more about Controller and processor

You remain the controller of your customers' and staff data. Where we handle personal data while building or running a system, we act as your processor, and that relationship belongs in a written contract covering the Article 28 terms: instructions, confidentiality, security, sub-processors, deletion at the end.

Restricted transfers to India

Data accessed from India is a restricted transfer, usually covered by the IDTA or UK Addendum.

Read more about Restricted transfers to India

If personal data is sent to or accessed from India, that is a restricted transfer under UK GDPR. Unless India is covered by UK adequacy regulations when we start, the usual safeguard is the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, plus a transfer risk assessment. The ICO publishes both.

Often the better answer: keep the data in the UK

We build on anonymised samples and deploy to your UK hosting, so live data stays there.

Read more about Often the better answer: keep the data in the UK

Many builds do not need us to see live personal data at all. We can develop against anonymised or synthetic samples, and deploy into your own UK hosting (for example a London region on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud) under your accounts, so production data stays in the UK and our access is limited and logged.

Language models and your data

An outside model API becomes a sub-processor; the alternative is an open-weight model on your server.

Read more about Language models and your data

If prompts contain personal data, sending them to a third-party model API makes that provider a sub-processor. Where that is not acceptable, we deploy an open-weight model on your own server or UK cloud instance instead. See private AI deployment and our comparison of on-premise LLMs and cloud APIs.

Marketing messages and PECR

Email, SMS and WhatsApp marketing automations record consent and honour opt-outs under PECR.

Email, SMS and WhatsApp marketing to UK individuals also falls under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. Lead capture and follow-up automations are built to record consent and honour opt-outs.

AI agents with a human checkpoint

Read more about AI agents with a human checkpoint

Agents that triage an inbox, draft replies, update records or chase information, with a person approving anything that leaves the building. See AI agent development, or RAG chatbots for assistants that answer from your own policies and documents.

Desk and Cybe Social

Neither product is tied to Indian tax rules, so both work for UK teams.

Questions

Do you have an office or staff in the UK?

No. The whole team is in Chennai, India. We work with UK clients remotely, with calls in your morning and written updates overnight.

Will you sign our data processing agreement?

Send it with your first enquiry. Where we process personal data for you, a written processor contract is required under UK GDPR, and if data reaches India the transfer terms (IDTA or UK Addendum) are added to it.

Which currency do you invoice in, and under which law is the contract?

Both are agreed in the written proposal before any work starts. Ask on the first call if you have a requirement from your finance team.

Can the system be hosted in the UK?

Yes. We deploy into UK regions of the main cloud providers or onto your own servers, in accounts you own.

Do you work with EU data as well?

Yes, the same approach applies under the EU GDPR, using the EU standard contractual clauses for transfers to India.
