AI that proposes bookkeeping entries and a person who confirms them

The AI agent reads and types; a person confirms every change to a figure.

Why confirmation is not optional

Everything the agent produces is a draft proposal that sits in no balance, report or return until a person confirms it in the Inbox.

A model that reads most bills correctly will still misread some, and in accounts a wrong figure spreads: into a balance, a GST return, a ledger the client trusts. So Fint treats everything the agent produces as a proposal. A proposal is saved as a draft and sits in no balance, report or return until a person confirms it in the Fint Inbox.

This is a human in the loop design. It means an agent saying "done" never means the books are updated. It means a draft is waiting for you.

What a good proposal looks like

A note beside the row

Each proposal explains its source row, doubts and category choice; the note never enters the books.

Read more about A note beside the row

Every proposal carries a note shown to the person in the Inbox: which sheet row it came from, what was unreadable, why it picked that category, or that it may belong in another book. The note is never written into the books.

No invented figures

An unreadable amount is left out and flagged, not guessed.

Read more about No invented figures

If the agent could not read an amount, it leaves the amount out and says so, rather than guessing.

Corrections, not silent edits

Wrong recorded rows get a proposed fix instead of being changed.

Read more about Corrections, not silent edits

When a recorded row is wrong (date, label, duplicate, refund), the agent proposes the fix instead of changing it.

Exact money

Amounts are exact decimals in the book's currency; dates come from the document.

Amounts are handled as exact decimal values in the book's currency, never as floating point numbers, and dates are taken from the document, not from today.

Connecting an assistant

Assistants connect through an API key or a connector a person can disconnect, and work only in the books they were granted.

Read more about Connecting an assistant

An AI assistant reaches Fint either through an API key someone creates in Settings or through a connector a person authorises and can disconnect themselves. It works only in the books it was granted. If you want the same propose and confirm pattern in your own systems, it is the core of our AI workflow automation work. See it applied to expense capture and bank reconciliation.

Questions

Which AI assistant works with Fint?

An assistant that can use an API key or an authorised connector. Ask us in the demo which assistants we have tested with.

Can the agent send an invoice to my customer?

No. It can draft one. A draft invoice goes nowhere until a person sends it from Fint.

What if I disagree with a proposal?

Edit it or reject it in the Inbox. Nothing it proposed has touched your figures.
